The Catalyst Story: The Catalyst story began in 2013 when Pastor Matt, his wife Kirsten, and their three young sons moved from Southern California to Woodland to begin a new faith community. We held our first public worship service in August of 2014 and launched our weekly services on December 4, 2014. God quickly did an amazing work as we began to see many people find and follow Jesus in this new church. We met at Tafoya Elementary School until the summer of 2018 when we moved downtown to our current location at 120 Main Street. We launched two services shortly after moving in on January 6, 2019.
Along the way God has built a community that worships together of about 220-260 on the weekend, with the majority of those who gather having never before been a part of a church or those who have come back after many years away. We are diverse in all age types and ethnicities. Over the years we have worked to make a huge impact in our city which has given rise to many initiatives, such as providing school supplies to all public elementary schools and granting the Christmas wish for every foster child in Yolo County. Our desire is to see people far from God enter one of our environments, commit to following Jesus, and be sent out to use their God-given gifts and talents to advance the Kingdom of God in our region.
